Freezer Lamb

Glenn raises hair sheep for meat. He tries to have lambs ready for customers year round. These lambs are grain fed and can weigh up to 100 pounds at 6 months old. The meat is tender and has a mild lamb flavor. Arrangements can be made with a local processing plant to have meat cut to your specifications, wrapped, and frozen, ready for you to pick up. Cost is based on current market prices. Email Glenn for more information.

The breeds raised for meat are crossbred Katahdin, Dorper and Saint Croix, commonly referred to as "hair sheep". They have very coarse, undesirable wool, that naturally sheds once a year. This eliminates the need for them to be shorn, a definite advantage for the shepherd.
